That is so cool! Thanks for sharing! I will check that site out – I’m the same way – got 2 kids now and not a single complete scrapbook page!

Well, I can’t say I have any experience with a kiddo on steroids, but I can relate to the laundry basket down the stairs. I don’t even have a drug to blame for the idea. I guess at that age they just don’t get physics yet and the fact that the basket can topple easily.

I hope your little guy is back to normal soon!

I’m from such a rural area that when I used to get asked what I did for a living, if anything, I had gotten to the point that I just forgot about the actual *title* (it was clearly too confusing for most folks) and would just say, “I work at home.” So I would get this really weird look, a pat on the hand, and this, “Well, yes, dear, being a mother is the hardest job in the world, isn’t it? Good for you for staying home with your children!” So now I just say, “I work on the computer and get paid.” Pretty simple :-)

    Hi,
I bought this for my twin boys who are going to be 5 in Feb. Are they too old? Thanks so much for your input. Jennifer

I have a daughter named Jenna too! How funny!

Thanks for posting these clips, I heard about this the other day, but missed the show. :)

I like Jenna Bush. She is a wonderful humanitarian and very smart. I thought that phone call was so cute and she was worried about her parents being mad…haha.

  13. Sommer says:

Thanks for this blog. All moms should support stay at home moms and more importantly try to buy non-toxic toys. Great ideas. Thanks.

    Oh So true! LOL

I think a conscientious mom second-guesses every single decision. We all want the best for our children.

I work in medicine and this debate is a lot older than most people realize. 17 years ago I made the decision to use glass exclusively but then worried about the problems THEY present.

You just do the best you can with the info you have at the time. No one can ask anything more of you than that. :-)

TRACI!!!! I will save the million hellos for later, but I want to say two things:
    1. I am thoroughly enjoying your websites AND
    2. I am with you on the quesadilla maker – that thing rocks!
Off to visit some more sites ;) So good to see you!!!

  17. Hi Traci!

I am new to your site. I just found it today while googling how to be a good mom and wife, and I’m so glad I found you. I’ve already got plans to put into practice a few of the resources you’ve provided here (namely OAMC).

I did the How Rich Am I? thing on that website, and discovered that even with just my husband’s salary (I am essentially a SAHM though I make less than $250/mo as a medical transcriptionist, working when the kids are asleep), my family is the 86,086,957th richest family in the world. I’m not trying to be crude, please don’t misunderstand me — but that’s far ahead of what you listed your rank to be, and I’m sitting here wondering why we are living paycheck to paycheck instead of enjoying the fruits of our (my husband’s) labor and giving generously to the rest of the world.

I’m going to continue reading your blog in hopes of learning more about money management and simple SAH momming. My husband and I go round and round about my role and responsibilities, and I just want our home to be a happy one, so I google the subject often. I enjoy the funny videos you post and most joyously, your prose. My husband is working on my website currently, and I can’t wait until I can link to you.

    Thank you.

That’s too funny and so true!

  19. Traci – The kind words about Glubble are much appreciated. There have been over 100,000 downloads of Glubble to-date, thanks in part to the attention it has received on blogs such as yours.

There are new enhancements and features coming this fall, and I’d invite you to join Glubble’s Facebook Page to get the latest news and information.

  20. Chizmosa says:

I do stay at home and sometimes I feel guilty and bored. But since it is my decision to stop working and stay at home instead, I have to deal with it. It is my first time to learn about SAHGS and thanks for the information. I will read for more about it.

  21. Becky says:

I saw this too on Fox… AMAZING! My sister-in-law had things all over her car about my niece and dance studio etc. I told her to get it off right away!!!

    Great post!

  22. Amy says:

I bought this game last week and we LOVE it. I can only take a few minutes I am so out of shape, but it is so much fun. A friend brought her kids over this weekend to try it out and they loved it too. After hearing “I want a wii fit” from her for over a year, she has changed her mind and now wants this game instead.
